How is the Catan National Championship run in the United Kingdom?
Our United Kingdom tournament consists of local qualifying tournaments that take place year-round. The winners of each of the tournaments win a seat at the Catan United Kingdom National Championship, which is held in late May or early June at the U.K. Games Expo in Birmingham. Players will face off against all other winners of the Qualifier tournaments to become the year’s Catan United Kingdom Champion.
The next United Kingdom National Championship will take place May 30 – June 1, 2023.
Qualified players will receive email communication from Organized Play with instructions regarding their attendance at UKGE. If you have not received an email by March 3, 2023, contact Stephanie Newman, Organized Play Coordinator.
Every two years the Champions are sent to the CATAN World Championship tournament. The next CATAN World Championship will take place in 2024. The United Kingdom champion will also compete in the European Championship, taking place in the off-years from the World Championship.
Catan United Kingdom 2022-2023 Season
We are currently booking stores, conventions, and charity events to host the Qualifier Tournaments. The 2022-2023 Season will run through May 2023.

NOTE: All participants must be 18+ years of age by the date of UK Games Expo (May 30, 2023). Hosts cannot compete in their own tournament. Winners of 2022-2023 Qualifier Tournaments are not allowed to play in additional Qualifier events for the 2022-2023 season.
