Canada 2021

How is the CATAN National Championship run in Canada?

Our Canadian tournament consists of local qualifying tournaments that take place year-round. The winners of each of the tournaments win a seat at the CATAN Canada National Championship. Players will face off against all other winners of the Qualifier tournaments to become the year’s CATAN Canada Champion.

The 2020 and 2021 Canada National Championship were cancelled due to COVID-19. All qualified players retain their qualified status and will have a seat at the next in-person Canada National Championship. CATAN Studio is working with Asmodee Canada to determine a date and location for the next Canada National Championship, to take place in Summer 2022.

Qualified players should have received email communication from Organized Play regarding their status. Please check your email and if you have not received anything, contact Stephanie Newman, Organized Play Coordinator.

Every two years the Champions are sent to the CATAN World Championship tournament. The next CATAN World Championship will be located in Malta, taking place in November 2022. The Canadian champion will also compete in the Americas tournament, a new event taking place in the off-years from the World Championship.

CATAN Canada 2021-2022 Season

The 2021-2022 Canadian Qualifier season has been paused due to the pandemic. We are working with Asmodee Canada to determine a location/date for a potential National Championship event and will update this page with more information as it becomes available.
