What Is The Catan National Championship?
The Catan National Championship is a year-long season of local/regional qualifiers, which concludes with one player from each country each season earning a spot at the Catan World Championship.
The winners of each local/regional qualifier tournament will earn a guaranteed seat at the Catan Canada Championship for that season.
Players will face off against all other winners of the qualifier tournaments to become that season’s Catan Canada Champion. Every two years, the Canadian Champions are sent to the Catan World Championship tournament. The 2020 Catan World Championship will be held in Malta.
2019 Season Open Qualifier at Fan Expo Toronto:
Catan Studio will host an open qualifier at Fan Expo on Friday, August 23.
Doors for Fan Expo open at 10 a.m. and the qualifier will begin at 11 a.m. Games will start as soon as everyone checks in, so be there before 11 a.m.
The Qualifier is located in the Tabletop Games Room in the north building, room 201.
In order to participate in the tournament, players must purchase tickets to Fan Expo. You can buy tickets online for Fan Expo for the days you’re attending.
Players who qualify for the Catan National Championship on Saturday, you’ll need to have a Friday and Saturday pass. Players who move on to the semi-finals on Sunday will need a Sunday pass. To purchase tickets to Fan Expo, go here – https://www.fanexpocanada.com

Catan Canada 2020 Season
We are currently booking stores, conventions, and charity events to host qualifier tournaments for the 2020 season. The 2020 Catan National Championship season starts in August 2020 after the National Championship tournament.

NOTE: All participants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and be 18+ years of age. Hosts may not play in their own events. If you are a player who has won a regional qualifier in a season, you are not allowed to play in other qualifying tournaments in the same season.
